about

Classroom Teaching Method for Chime-bars, Bells, Boomwhackers, Xylophone, Piano in C-major scale. With a Rhythm Melody companion.

A resource for the music teacher, LMCi is an educational method for reading music notation and playing instruments in a classroom or one-to-one environment.
For primary schools, ages 5-10.
Separate files with British note names also included.

There are 12 lessons/tunes in LMCi. Each lesson contains:
- Score (pdf) for teachers or advanced students
- C-instrument (pdf) for students
- Rhythmic Melody (pdf) for students
- Melody Track (mp3)
- Backing Track (mp3)

The whole package contains:
- Teacher’s Guide with Score parts (pdf)
- Student book with notation & learning per lesson (pdf; International & UK)
- Rhythmic Melody with drum notation & learning per lesson (pdf; International & UK)
- 12 Melody tracks (mp3)
- 12 Backing track (mp3)

Goals: at the end of the program, the students will know how to read and perform:
- Notes: C, D, E and F.
- Note lengths: eighth (quaver), quarter (crothcet), half (minim), dotted quarter (dotted crotchet)
dotted half (dotted minim),
- Rests: quarter (crotchet), half (minim),
- Additional symbols: Repeat sign, Pickup bar (Anacrusis), Shuffle/Swing indicator

The lessons are 8- or 16-bar instrumental tunes. They are tailored to be fun and easy to understand, with a logical progression from easy to more difficult performances. The first lesson starts with just two notes and two note lengths, and in every lesson there’s a new music symbol added and compositions become gradually more complex.
